The Scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man.  It is full and complete in its sixty-six books, which were revealed by the ministry of the Holy Spirit.  We believe that the Bible is verbally inspired in every word; absolutely inerrant in the original documents.  Therefore, it is totally true and trustworthy; thus, it gives us the supreme standard for all human conduct for all time.

(Isaiah 30:8; 1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:3-4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12)

God, the Father

We believe there is only one true and living God.  He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe.  He is infinitely holy, loving, just, merciful, all powerful, all knowing, and always present. He has eternally existed and revealed Himself in three Persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

(Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; Hebrews 11:3)

God, the Son, Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, possessing all the divine attributes and being equal with the Father.  He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice through His death on the cross.  He rose from the dead after three days; therefore, demonstrating His power over death and sin.  He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again.

(Isaiah 7:14; John 10:27-40; Hebrews 1:3, 8: Matthew 1:22-25; Hebrews 7:26-27; 1 Peter 1:18-19)

God, the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son, and His work is to execute God’s will among men.  The Holy Spirit is a supernatural and sovereign agent in the new birth, indwelling the believer at the time of salvation. He is our Counselor and guarantees our eternal inheritance.

(Acts 5:3-4; John 3:5-7; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:13-14)

Man

We believe that man was created by God and in the image of God for the purpose of enjoyment and fellowship with God.  We believe that through sin man has fallen out of relationship with God, and that through his own effort, cannot achieve a right relationship with God.

(Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Genesis 1:26-28; 3:1-19; Romans 6:23; 3:23)

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift from God attained by grace through faith.  The gift was made available through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We attain this gift through repentance and personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  The gift consists of forgiveness of sin, a reconciled relationship with God, and eternal life. We believe through the power of God a born again believer has a secure position in the family of God forever.

(Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; Acts 17:30; Romans 10:9; John 10:27-29)

The Church

We believe that all who place their faith in Christ are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body of which Christ is the head.  We believe the body (the church) exists to glorify God by world-wide proclamation that Jesus is Lord.  We believe that Jesus Christ instituted two symbolic ordinances: baptism by immersion for all believers and the Lord’s Supper as a memorial of His death

(1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:22; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:14-20)
