A Church is Birthed
CrossLife Community Church is a church plant out of Heartland Church in Columbia, Maryland. Heartland Church launched in 1996 with a goal to start a new church within four years. That goal was met with the birth of CrossLife Community Church in 2003, pastored by John Mackall.
John served as a Church Plant Intern for Heartland from October 2002 to October 2003.
October 2003 Our First Service
CrossLife held their first service on October 26th, 2003, with a small core group of people worshiping in the pastor’s home in Elkridge.
December 2003/March 2004 Outgrowing
By December we had grown out of our home, and God provided a new worship space at the Main Street Barber Shop in Elkridge, Maryland. While this might sound strange, it worked great. Again God blessed us, and by March, 2004, we outgrew the Barber Shop and began to utilize the triple-wide, green trailer and fellowship hall of Grace Episcopal Church in Elkridge.
Present Day @ Elkridge Elementary
Today we are in Elkridge Elementary at 7075 Montgomery Rd, Elkridge, MD 21075. We feel that part of our mission to Jerusalem reminds us that we serve our community. By being in a school setting we are an example, we provide support for the school, and we can bring the word of God to others in our community.
New Building (Spring of 2020)
This spring we will be moving into our new building, praise God! Total space is 7000 sq. feet. Approximately 4000 sq. feet will be used for our worship auditorium. The remainder will consist of a lobby, restrooms, conference room, offices, children areas, and a kitchenette. We look forward to the move of God in and through us as we continue to be faithful with what He has blessed us with.
